On the 14th of April, the music was playing at the Elektrėnai Ice Palace, where the participants of figure skating competition ‘Elektrėnai Open 2018’ were competing on the ice.
For the second year in a row, high-class figure skating competition was organised by Elektrėnai Municipality Sports Centre and was classified to sixteen age groups. Sixty six skaters from all over Lithuania compete. The athletes from Elektrėnai Municipality Sports Centre showed excellent results: 15 female athletes competed in group Chicks B Girls and the student Urtė Isabel Prūsaitė (coach R. Satkauskaitė) took the 2nd step on the winners’ podium, while Aistė Kačinskaitė won the 3rd place. In group Chicks A girls, Eglė Triponaitė (coach R. Satkauskaitė) took the 2nd place. In group Cubs B Girls, Adelija Katkutė won the 2nd place and Ema Komičiūtė (coach R. Satkaustaitė) – the 3rd place. In group Springs B Girls, the 1st place was taken by Gabrielė Tolvaišaitė (coach R. Satkauskaitė), the 2nd place – by Gabrielė Rinkevičiūtė (coach R. Sudakovienė) and the 3rd place – by Diana Viktorija Kartenė (coach R. Sudakovienė). In group Basic Novice A Girls, the 3rd place was taken by Emilija Švenčionytė (coach R. Satkauskaitė). In the group Beginners 2003-2006, Emilija Pranukevičiūtė was the best and took the 1st place (coach R. Sudakovienė). Having organised excellent competition, Elektrėnai Municipality Sports Centre received a proposal to organise the competition of the Lithuanian Figure Skating Competition together with the Lithuanian Skating Federation in 2018.
