On the 15th of March, the Students Robotics Competition of Kaunas City ‘Thinking, Constructing and Programming’ took place at the Kaunas Gediminas Sports and Health Promotion Gymnasium.
Nine schools of Kaunas City participated in the competition: Gymnasium of the President Valdas Adamkus, Kaunas Dainava Progymnasium, Kaunas Old Town Progymnasium, Kaunas Region Ringaudai Primary School, Kaunas Viktoras Kuprevičius Progymnasium, Kaunas Bernardas Brazdžionis Multifunctional Centre, Kaunas Vincas Kudirka Progymnasium, Kaunas Panemunė Primary School and Kaunas Gediminas Sports and Health Promotion Gymnasium.
This competition aims at promoting and developing the IT knowledge, educating the creativeness, the interest in the world, thinking and solving of the arising problems, work in the groups, performance of the tasks within a certain period of time by constructing Lego Wedo 2.0 robots.
The students performed three tasks: robot-painter (construction), construction of animal, robot-snow machine (construction). Each team had to complete the given task within a certain period of time. It was difficult to construct, because the students could not use the manuals. The students were consulted by two robotics teachers, IT senior teacher Jolanta Lukočienė and the 3rd year student of Vilnius University – Karolina Čviežikaitė.
All teams were awarded with the sponsor prizes and other sweets of UAB Gudobelė. Each team received nominations.
