On the occasion of the beautiful winter holidays, Racing Women Association ‘Racing Ladies’ organised a kart racing event to the children of Nemenčinė Social Centre for Children and Teenagers.
The majority of children not only had never sat in the go-kart, but had not even seen these small sports vehicles. ‘Kartlandas’ racing field in Vilnius provided an opportunity for these children to compete and to experience positive emotions and contributed to the organisation of racing for socially disadvantaged children. ‘It is a pleasure to bring joy to children with venturesome racing impressions in a safe environment on the occasion of such a beautiful festive season. This experience will be useful to you in the future as for the future drivers’, said Asta Kybartaitė-Jonučienė, the president of the Racing Women Association.
Not only girls and boys from the social centre competed in the race, their supervisors and members of the ‘Racing Ladies’ joined them as well as some other girls who wanted to test themselves in the karting race. One of them, the member of group ‘Vyšnios’ Aistė Karanauskytė, was kart racing for the first time, however, proved to be a good learner to make the best time of completion of the circuit. All participants of the competition were classified into three groups – girls, boys and ‘Racing Ladies’. All of them sat to a go-cart twice – for training and qualification driving and racing. The winners of the karting tournament were awarded with ‘Racing Ladies’ cups and a present from bakery ‘Gudobelė’ – bread crisps ‘Bon Chance’.
